Triton Digital’s Simon Lee, Audio Marketplace Operations Director, has been recognized by Business Insider as a “Rising Star of Adtech.” The 2023 award recognizes forward-thinking, up-and-coming executives in the advertising technology space. This is a big honor for Simon, he is passionate about his work and is excited to see the industry grow so quickly.

A recent IAB Internet Advertising report indicated that in 2022 digital audio revenues hit $5.9 billion. Programmatic advertising revenues grew by $10.4 billion, bringing the total number to $109.4 billion, an increase of 10.5% YoY.

The global Adtech market size was valued at 886.19 billion in 2022 and is expected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 13.7% from 2023 to 2030. The Adtech ecosystem is intricately complicated and involves many participants, namely companies and platforms which create a path between supply and demand.

This award spotlights all the challenging work Lee tackles every day. He has held several roles in the creation, broadcast, distribution, streaming, and monetization of audio throughout his rapidly evolving career. Currently he is connecting audio, audience, and advertising with a revenue focused direction at Triton Digital. Based in Malaysia, he is proud to work for the world's largest programmatic audio marketplace. His goal is to make more audio ads available for programmatic buying. Lee works with Asia-Pacific publishers, including Nova Entertainment, ARN, RESSO, Pocket FM, Radio Mirchi and Mediacorp, to connect their ad inventory into Triton’s marketplace. His work helped grow the Triton Audio Marketplace by 50% in 2022.

In the Asia-Pacific region, Lee believes Australia and New Zealand remain a driving force for podcasting and he expects podcasters there to continue investing in content and revenue opportunities. “While it’s an obvious prediction that the podcast networks launched in the past year will continue to snowball, and with radio networks now directing resources into podcasting, the attention will heavily shift to monetizing this content through direct sales of impressions, sponsorships, and via programmatic.” says Lee.

Lee is currently zeroing in on emerging markets like Japan, Korea, and India and helping publishers navigate challenges in digital audio like brand safety, privacy, and measurement. “It is impressive to see the talent represented in the list and we are delighted to provide a platform to allow Simon to showcase his innovative ideas, hard work, and distinct talent. With unparalleled integrity, teamwork, and accountability, Simon is committed to connecting audio, audiences, and advertisers to continuously fuel the growth of Adtech around the globe.” Said Marketplace Operations Manager, Ivone Schramm. The focus is to support clients, partners, and the industry at large in a highly competitive world. Triton is a leading Adtech provider to the digital audio marketplace because of the talented and passionate people who work behind the senses.
