New Podcasts from Audioboom, Stitcher, and AdLarge/cabana Debut in Triton’s U.S. Podcast Report for December 2020

On Wednesday, January 27, 2021 we announced today the release of the latest U.S Podcast Report for December 2020 (November 30, 2020 – January 3, 2021) reporting period, as measured by Triton’s Podcast Metrics measurement service.

The Top Network Reports are ranked by Average Weekly Downloads and Average Weekly Users, in accordance with the latest IAB Podcast Technical Measurement Guidelines. 

In this reporting period, NPR remained in the #1 spot with 37.5M Average Weekly Downloads and 10.4M Average Weekly Users, followed by Stitcher with 23.6M Average Weekly Downloads and 6.5M Average Weekly Users, Wondery with 18.4M Average Weekly Downloads and 4.8M Average Weekly Users, and Entercom’s Podcast Network, including Cadence13 and Pineapple Street Studios with 17.9M Average Weekly Downloads and 4.9M Average Weekly Users. 

The Top Podcasts are also ranked by both Average Weekly Downloads and Average Weekly Users, in accordance with the latest IAB Podcast Technical Measurement Guidelines.

In the Top 100 Podcasts by Downloads report, a number of new entities made their debut this reporting period, including Something Was Wrong (Audioboom), On Purpose with Jay Shetty (Stitcher), and Red Collar (AdLarge/cabana).  Additionally, in the Top 100 Podcasts by Users report, a number of new entities made their debut this reporting period, including Inside the Hive with Nick Bilton (Entercom/Cadence13/Pineapple Street Studios), Comedy Bang Bang: The Podcast (Stitcher), and Blue Rush: A NY Giants Football Podcast from NY Post Sports (AdLarge/cabana). 

Leading podcasts by Average Weekly Downloads include Crime Junkie (audiochuck), Up First (NPR), The Ben Shapiro Show (Cumulus Media/Westwood One), and My Favorite Murder with Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark (Stitcher), with NPR News Now remaining in the #1 spot as the most downloaded podcast in the United States.
